Taylor Swift is breaking records worldwide. After becoming the third act ever to reach #1 on iTunes in more than 100 countries, she is poised to become the first western artist to have an album in the Top 20 bestselling digital albums of all time in China. According to local sources, reputation has already done 760,000 SPS first day in China, of which 300,000 were digital album downloads. She has also sold 4.6 million singles, contributing another 307,000 SPS units. Adding streaming and physical albums, she did another 150,000. Notably, China is an exception for streaming where her songs are available on QQ but not Spotify.
Interestingly, this number is higher than the 700,000 number for the US. This also explains why Taylor has included China in her promo and world tour lately. She is reportedly performing at Victoria’s Secret fashion show in China soon.
